AARC Office Spirometry Certification Program

Spirometry is a common pulmonary function test used to diagnose various pulmonary diseases, like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). These tests can be completed in the physician’s office by non-respiratory therapists, but a quality spirometry test requires training and practice. The AARC Office Spirometry Certificate program provides non-respiratory therapists the necessary education for quality spirometry as well as an opportunity to demonstrate skill in performing the test.

This program includes an independent study video-based instructional course, a post-course examination, and quality assurance feedback on 10 spirometry tracings submitted by the candidate from a skilled and credentialed pulmonary function technologist.

For more information, please visit http://www.aarc.org/resources/programs-projects/aarc-office-spirometry-certificate-program/

This program is NOT designed for respiratory therapists and does not award CRCE. If you are a respiratory therapist, please visit the diagnostics section of AARC University for RT-specific CRCE courses.
